Going to Utah Soon!

So I'm SUPER excited for our little family vacation next week! We're going to UTAH! I've been wanting to do this trip for some time now, and I'm happy to say it's ALMOST HERE! Shane will be joining me from Thursday to Monday. Mason and I will be extending our trip to Friday so I can get some extra time in with family and friends.

Mason is so excited about building a snow man and playing in the snow. I'm wondering how long he'll really last since he really is a CA kid! The coldest weather we have here is usually in the 40's and that's even a little unusual! (I'm also wondering how long I'M going to last!)

I haven't been to Utah in over 3 years.. kind of pathetic, I know! On the list of things that we're going to do is a Mexican Restaurant that Shane is dying to try that he saw on Drive In's, Dinners and Dives called Red Iguana. We're also planning on going to the Draper Temple Open House as well. And then besides a few obvious things like visiting Temple Square and the surrounding area... plus a stop in Provo area I'm at a loss of things that we MUST DO!

I know A LOT of you have gone to BYU or do live, have lived, or are frequent visitors of Utah. GIVE US SUGGESTIONS! What are the things on your MUST DO while in UT list!? Please share with us! I'm looking for places to eat, places to shop, places to take Mason (he's 2 1/2 almost 3).

Can't wait to hear!

Inspiration for our Little Girl's Room!

Here is a peek into the room where we are going to put our little girl. We ARE not going to re-paint the room since it was just painted in August, and we had planned on this room being the nursery from Day 1 when we bought the house. The color of the room is best described as a light sage green (maybe a soft mint green??). Very soothing and gender neutral.

I REALLY want to have something cute, and a little girly... but not over the top! My baby furniture/crib is a dark cherry wood. I'm kind of leaning towards doing this bedding from Pottery Barn Kids (Like the quilt.. don't love it yet!) But I do love the colors and especially the polka dot sheets! (here's another link to more pictures!), and I'm starting to get some inspiration just from those pictures. I may not get the quilt and just do the sheets & Bumper.

The color combo I'm leaning towards is Pink, Green & White, but the bedding & sheets also come in purple & green. Think I still like pink a little more.

I'm starting to fall in love with these. Plus I love these polka dots. (Why oh why does it have to be Pottery Barn kids.. SO expensive!)

If you have any ideas and can offer me any inspiration.. PLEASE share! I'm not stuck on anything yet!

We do know FOR sure we are having a girl! We had ANOTHER ultrasound yesterday. We had a little scare. (don't worry - SHE IS DOING GREAT!!) The Dr. was having a hard time finding her heartbeat at my scheduled appointment, so he sent me in for an ultrasound just to be safe!! I was freaking out the entire time, but as soon as I got to the hospital the ultrasound lady showed me that the baby had a STRONG heartbeat and was safe and sound... just stubborn and in a weird position and place in my belly. Whew! Kind of a scary day for us.. but glad everything is okay.

After our first ultrasound told us she was a girl.. I starting having these crazy thoughts like.. what if it really isn't a girl.. there are just so many boys in this family. I think I need a second ultrasound, just to reconfirm to me that YES.. she is indeed, FOR SURE, A GIRL! Well.. that wasn't the way I wanted to reconfirm it, but after the ultrasound tech confirmed that she was healthy and that there was NOTHING to be worried about.. she rechecked the girly parts again for me and showed me, AGAIN that SHE is definitely still a SHE. lol! I guess I have no reason to doubt any more!! And I can really start shopping for dresses, bows and PINK!

Love to hear your comments about color combos for this room! I'm not really stuck on what I found at Pottery Barn Kids (and Shane is gulping at the prices and begging for me to find things that are not so steeply priced!)
